STRÅLER* Light, in particular sunlight and Aurora lights, has a special, almost mythical place in Nordic lifestyle. In Norse mythology one legend suggests that the Aurora lights were reflections from the shield of Valkyrie, the female warriors. Aurora was also believed to be a glowing arch leading the fallen warriors to final resting place in Valhalla.
The design is derived from elements of constructivism and De Stijl, movements with a strong impact on mid-century modern.
* STRÅLER is Norwegian for rays.
